Engineering Concepts Class:
Students manipulate a railroad circuit to have left/right turn signals and control of their motors. They learn the operation of each circuit component, how to change the RR circuit for their needs, and soldering practice.
Engineering Concept Students build and hang their built birdhouse during the fall so that when spring comes they will have guests.
Seniors, Paul Arrambide and Kyo Estrella, final robotic project. Tread
wheels (all that know me understand what a funny joke this is on me) :) They
added a turntable on the top of the robot.
FRC: First Robotics Competition:
FRC Team: Andrew Collett (SR), Timothy Davis (SR), Paul Arrambide (SR), Kyo Estrella
(SR), Harley Thomas (JR), Jack Medders (JR), Drew Turbeville (FR), and Zach Collett (FR).
FRC was virtual this year so we had to score inside the goal (31 points in 1 min.), drive two different mazes (average 16 seconds) and time how long it took while being viewed by engineers from Texas, Calafornia, and Mexico. Our team won interviews for their invitation project, game design, and robot build.
FRC Virtual Game Design Challenge: Frc students made the field, elements, and the game rules they uploaded to the FRC platform. After judges from engineering companies across the country evaluated their products our team won an interview. The interview was completed by Harley Thomas, (JR), Andrew Collett (SR) and Timothy Davis (SR). Kyo Estrella (SR) designed the chain hooks and Timothy Davis and his team used the Solid Works CAD program to create the field.
FRC Innovation Challenge: The engineering lab has power in the floors where chairs hit the power when students were working and gave a shock on the students legs. The solution was to place a box over the plugs to protect the students and power cords. During this challenge the FRC team decided a twist lock plug would be a better solution to the problem. The team uploaded their design and earned them an interview with engineers across the country. Andrew Collett made the images with the Solid Works CAD program.
