DECA NEWS

Congratulations to the following students who competed nationally in the DECA Knowledge Matters Virtual Business Challenge. Brilen Hatton was recognized as the top Alabama state winner in the Hotel Management Simulation and Noah Scott and Heather Medlin were recognized as the top Alabama state winners in the Personal Finance Simulation. DECA trains emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management fields. DECA stands for Distributive Education Clubs of America.

Boys Golf News submitted by Coach Gargis

The boys' golf team recently won the Hartselle golf tournament on March 11.


Also, the boys' team played in the Bradley Johnson Memorial Tournament at Greystone in Birmingham on March 18-19. This is a tournament that consists of 15 of the top teams in the state in all classifications. The Trojans finished 7th overall and 2nd among the 6A schools. Hunter Battles tied for 9th place overall. Congratulations to the boys golf team!

Muscle Shoals High School will present Mary Poppins on May 2-4 at 7:00PM in the Stratford auditorium. Tickets are $12.00 general admission or $10.00 ages 5 and under. Tickets may be purchased in the high school office or online at www.gofan.co/muscleshoalstrojans


Back in March, the Chorus Department presented Hamilton: An American Musical in front of over 600 people on March 18. The show was full of energy, talent, and incredible history. We can't wait to see Mary Poppins!

National Saturday ACT Test Date: Saturday, April 13

The registration period for the April 13 test has passed. The next national test date is June 8. The regular deadline to register for the June 8 test is May 3. The late registration period (with fee assessed) is May 4-20. As always, stop by the guidance office if you have any assessment questions.

Speaking of ACT, did you know that all MSHS Juniors will take the ACT on Wednesday, April 24? There is no cost for this test opportunity. Every junior in the State of Alabama will take the ACT this year (paid for by the State of Alabama).

For Juniors: ACT pre-admission paperwork for the April 24 test will be on Friday, April 12 during first block. This session will be led by Mrs. Nelson, and all juniors will need to complete the process. Students must complete the required paperwork before taking the ACT on April 24..
