JUMP ROPE FOR HEART
Our school will be holding Jump Rope For Heart on Friday, February 24. Parent volunteers are needed to help with planning, prize distribution and to count donations on the day of the event. If you are interested in helping in the fight against our nation's number one killer--heart disease, please contact Mrs. Spears. firstname.lastname@example.org.
It's time to re-enroll your Kroger Plus card to earn $$ for the PTO. At the beginning of each new calendar year, we have to re-enroll. It's easy! Just go to kroger.com/communityrewards and select "Re-Enroll Now." Last quarter, we earned $1,381.20 -- just for shopping!
AFTER SCHOOL CLUB PARENT/ADULT VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED!
After School Clubs are a great program where the children can experience a 4-week program in one club. They run for 4 consecutive Tuesdays for 1 hour after school. Do you have a special and/or unique talent that you would like to share with the children of FCE? We need at least 20 leaders and 20 helpers to run clubs. The clubs will run Wednesday afternoons from 3:40-4:45. Club leaders and helpers are expected to help until 5:05 p.m. The dates are February 15, 22, March 1 and 8. The club fee of $15 is waived for children of volunteers. Look for information in your child's Friday folders or email Carrie @ email@example.com.
Be sure to check the FCE website for the latest edition of the Fish Bowl newspaper (FISH BOWL QUICK LINK)!
Notification of Pesticide Application
Per state guidelines, some planned applications of pesticides require school districts to notify parents, guardians, and staff members at least 48 hours prior to application. The information provided will include: name or address of the school where pesticide application is occurring, contact information for more details, anticipated date and time of pesticide application, pest(s) being targeted, description of application area, and pesticide(s) to be used.
The link to Pesticide Notification information can be found on the HSE Schools website (hse.k12.in.us) by clicking on "Schools/Staff", then selecting "Facilities Information" from the menu. Active notifications will appear under "Pesticide Herbicide Announcements". If required notification cannot be posted on the Pesticide Notification site at least 48 hours prior to application, a notice with this information will be posted in the "News" section of the HSE website. The information on the website will be provided by the facilities department, and updated as needed. If you do not have access to the HSE Schools website, or have further questions, please contact the HSE Facilities Department at (317)594-4380.
Safe Visitor Badge and Visitors
Anyone wishing to volunteer in the school must have a SafeVisitor ID Badge. Please note this policy also applies to anyone wishing to join students for lunch. Simply follow the quick link on our FCE website to apply for a background check. This process takes 5-7 days.
