Irmo Elementary Family Updates
#HeartoftheHive #BetterTogether April 19-23
A Note From Your Principal
Dear IES Families,
I have several important reminders as we begin our week together. You received an email on April 12th to complete a parent survey for the South Carolina Department of Education about IES. This feedback is very important to us. Thank you for those who have completed this already. The support of our families is so encouraging as we learn and grow together. I have included the link below if needed. As a reminder, we have MAP testing beginning this week. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions about their individual class schedule. We want to make sure our bees get a good night's sleep so they can do their very best on the test! We know they can show all of the wonderful things they are learning at IES. We will have our next early release day this Wednesday, 4/21 beginning at 11:40 am. The car rider line will open at 11:20 am. Thank you again for all you do each and every day to support the heart of the hive!

FIVE Virtual Weekly Update:
Hello IES FIVE family,
We hope you all enjoyed an amazing Spring Break and a great week back in FIVE. The end of the 20-21 school year is quickly approaching and we hope that your students are excited about a strong finish to the year. Please help us by taking some time to sit down with your students this week to discuss how they feel they are doing in class. Our amazing FIVE teachers, school administrators, and IES support system would love to do whatever we can to best support both the students and our parents/guardians. We know that without your help and support this year that FIVE would not be nearly as effective. Thank you for your time and efforts. Please see the below updates for FIVE as we start moving into testing season. Please pay special attention to MAP testing details for our FIVE students as our FIVE MAP testing begins next week. We hope you all have an amazing week and please do not hesitate to reach out to us about how we can best serve you.
Sincerely,
Jason Bebber

MAP Testing (FIVE-Virtual STUDENTS ONLY)
We will begin Elementary MAP testing both days at 8:30 am for students who are testing both in person and virtually. Students will be provided asynchronous assignments to complete once they have completed testing each day. Please make sure your student is in attendance for testing and that they have a good breakfast! If you have any questions, please contact your student's teacher or jbebber@lexrich5.org. Thank you.
As a reminder, this Virtual MAP Letter regarding Spring MAP testing was sent to all FIVE families on April 12th. If you would like for your child to take MAP virtually, please complete the click on the consent form link found in the Virtual MAP letter to acknowledging that you understand that the test will not count for gifted and talented identification. If you do not complete the form, the school will schedule the in-person administration. Again, THE CONSENT FORM MUST BE FILLED OUT TO TEST VIRTUALLY. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact jbebber@lexrich5.org or kdhill@lexrich5.org.
All IES students in FIVE who have chosen to test in-person will test at IES. Students should be at the school between 8:10am and 8:30am with the test beginning at 8:30am. Drop-off and pick up location will be in the bus loop in front of the cafeteria. Students should bring a charged device, a water bottle, and a mask to wear. Students will test in the cafeteria (socially distanced), or in a FIVE teachers classroom (socially distanced) depending on grade level. All tables/ desks/ materials will be wiped down and cleaned before students arrive as well as all restrooms. If you have any questions about safety procedures, please reach out to jbebber@lexrich5.org.
