Spring Book Fair and Dr. Seuss Week

The spring book fair is coming soon, March 4-8! We will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and in the evening on Tuesday, March 5, after the 2nd grade Dr. Seuss Music program at 6:30 pm. If you want to shop early, you can visit our book fair home page starting February 24: http://www.scholastic.com/bf/oggelementaryschool. Information about the book fair and Dr. Seuss dress-up days will be coming home soon. Look for information in the packet and on the book fair homepage about ewallet, a new and safe way to send money to school with your child. This will be our last book fair for the school year. Come shop with us and fill up your bookshelf with great, new books for summer reading. Remember to read 20 minutes every night, #oggreads20!

Smencil Library Fundraiser

We are selling Smencils for $1.50 on Friday mornings in the library to raise funds for our programs, author visits, and reading incentives. Thank you for supporting the Ogg Library!

Breakfast Club

Breakfast Club is a great opportunity for our 3rd and 4th graders to get in some extra reading or work on homework. We meet every morning from 7:30 a.m. to 7:55 a.m. Students can bring their breakfasts (or not if they ate breakfast at home) to the library and enjoy a quiet environment in which they can read their books, finish homework, and/or take AR tests. Encourage your kids to join us! #oggreads20

Box Tops for Ogg Library

Ogg Library is collecting Box Tops. Students have been given a collection sheet, or they can bring them in an envelope or plastic sandwich bag. Please collect Box Tops and send them to the library. The funds will help us pay for reading rewards and incentives, programs such as Star Wars Reads and author visits, and new library books. Thank you for supporting the Ogg Library!

We encourage every student to read or be read to for 20 minutes every night. Research shows that the more you read (or are read to, for our preK and Kinder Twisters), the better you perform in academics. Reading to your child is the number one, most important thing you can do to impact your child's education.

Please join us on this mission by reading to and with your students every night. If you need help, please contact Mrs. Rumsey, Ogg Media & Digital Learning Specialist, at brumsey@brazosportisd.net. Also, visit your local library for books. A library card is free.
