Does Your Child Need Books to Read?

MackinVia

Until you can come to the school, you can read ebooks on your Chromebook. Click the picture above to access our campus MackinVia. This resource is Google Authenticated so you don't need a username and password.

Links to all BISD textbooks and Accelerated Reader are in the Featured Group.

In the menu on the left, click on ebooks to view all the ebooks in the Ogg collection. To search by AR level, click on Advanced Search ~Accelerated Reader and use the sliding bar to set the range.

To select a book to read:

1. Note that some books have a limited number available and you "check them out". These can be accessed from the student's backpack.

2. Some books can be "Opened Now" and read immediately because there are no quantity limits.

3. Books will open in a new window. Some books have audio features and will read the books to the students, but not all will.

Click "More Info" to read a summary of the book, see page numbers, check exact AR level, and find the Quiz ID number.

Click on Audiobooks to access our school's audiobook collection.

Click on Databases to access resources such as Tumbelbooks, DK Finds Out, and PebbleGo.

Box Tops for Ogg Library

Ogg Library is collecting Box Tops. Please download the Box Tops for Education app. When you purchase Box Tops items, simply scan your receipt to donate to our library. The funds will help us pay for reading rewards and incentives, programs such as Star Wars Reads and author visits, and new library books. Thank you for supporting the Ogg Library!

#oggreads20

We encourage every student to read or be read to for 20 minutes every night. Research shows that the more you read (or are read to, for our preK and Kinder Twisters), the better you perform in academics. Reading to your child is the number one, most important thing you can do to impact your child's education.

Please join us on this mission by reading to and with your students every night. If you need help, please contact Mrs. Rumsey, Ogg Media & Digital Learning Specialist, at brumsey@brazosportisd.net. Also, visit your local library for books. A library card is free.
