Star Wars Reads Day and Star Gazing

Join us Friday, October 20, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in celebrating Star Wars Reads Day. The Brazosport Astronomy Club will be there for star gazing with their amazing telescopes. We will also have fun stations for you to visit: Clone Wars videos, Marshmallow Robot craft, Light Saber assembly, and space station building with Legos. Wear your Star Wars t-shirts or costumes, and join the fun.

If it is too cloudy, the Astronomy Club will hold a demonstration in the cafeteria. If it rains, they will not be able to come. However, the other activities will be available rain or shine.

This school year, Ogg Twisters are starting a new mission, #oggreads20. We encourage every student to read or be read to for 20 minutes every night. Research shows that the more you read (or are read to, for our preK and Kinder Twisters), the better you perform in academics. Reading to your child is the number one, most important thing you can do to impact your child's education.

Please join us on this mission by reading to and with your students every night. If you need help, please contact Mrs. Rumsey, Ogg Media & Digital Learning Specialist, at brumsey@brazosportisd.net. Also, visit your local library for books. A library card is free.
