Congratulations to Ericka Griess!!
Ericka Griess, exceptional student services teacher at Mountain View High School as secondary educator of the year.
Griess as secondary educator of the year, a teacher who “inspires hope in students,” creates a collaborative team with students, staff and families and consistently fosters academic, behavioral and emotional growth in students, according to her nominations read by Akeley-Charron during the event. The nomination also states that “parents know they can count on (Griess) to help them and their students unconditionally.”

COVID-19 Vaccination
Thompson School District is pleased to announce that it has partnered with the Larimer County Department of Health and Environment on a program that will provide COVID-19 vaccination opportunities for TSD students (16-years of age or older) and families.
The appointments are voluntary and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Important note: Currently, those who are 16 or 17-years-old can only receive the Pfizer vaccine, which has limited availability. Parents/guardians registering their child should be sure to register for the Pfizer vaccine only.

Students and family members interested in learning more about concurrent enrollment programs are invited to a virtual information session. Topics include:
-Take Front Range Community College classes and earn both college and high school credit.
-College tuition is paid by your school district (students are responsible for books and fees).
-Take transferrable general education courses.
-Be career-ready with career and technical training (earn a certificate in one semester)!
-Not sure if college is right for you? Explore your interests, tuition free!

Class of 2021 Senior Acknowledgements
Dear 2021 Mountain View Grads and Parents,
We are gathering information for our MVHS 2021 Senior Acknowledgements. Below is a QR code that can be used to submit information for all scholarships that you have been offered (accepted and declined), dollar amounts and how many times you can renew, colleges you have been accepted to (accepted and declined), awards you have been presented, and certificates you have earned. If you have enlisted in the military, please note this here along with your future plans. This form can be submitted multiple times,
so as information becomes available, please let us know:

Free Practice SAT/ACT PSAT Tests
Our tutoring center, Tutoring Excellence of Loveland, offers FREE practice testing for the SAT and the ACT once monthly for the entirety of the school year. Our upcoming testing dates are listed below and attached. Help us make your students aware of this service! Thank you.

Student Essay Contest
We the Students essay contest, deadline: April 15, 2021.
This essay prompt this year is: What is the relationship between equality and justice?
The sixteen student winners will receive a total of $20,000 in scholarship prizes. More details including rules and regulations can be found on our website.
Inaugural Colorado Virtual Career Fair for Youth
Announcing the inaugural Colorado Virtual Career Fair for youth!

The Colorado Virtual Career Fair is a collaboration between the Colorado State Youth Council, Colorado Workforce Development Council, Colorado Association of Career & Technical Education, other Colorado professional education agencies & organizations; and many Colorado school districts.
The design of this fair has an intention of facilitating access and awareness of career path opportunities to students who may or may not have been able to access the options before. Beyond the barrios of geographic location, beyond zip code, beyond regional location and beyond school district - students & families, youth & individuals of any age or grade level are welcome to attend. Heros Among Us
The Loveland Mountain View Rotary Club is accepting applications for its "Heroes Among Us" program, which provides students with an opportunity to honor a person who has influenced their life and possibly win a scholarship in the process!
A total of five scholarships are available.

Front Range Community College
Because we care so much about student success, the Admissions department at Front Range Community College, Larimer Campus is pleased to announce a unique scholarship opportunity just for your graduating seniors at Mountain View high school.
This scholarship, in the amount of $533.65, will pay for tuition and fees for one 3 credit class (as shown below) for one lucky student who will be enrolling at FRCC for the upcoming Summer or Fall 2021 semesters. This scholarship can be combined with all other Financial Aid awards.
The scholarship recipient will be chosen by a random draw. To be in the running for the scholarship, all your students need to do is sign up for the drawing – no essays, no minimum GPA requirement.
The deadline for entering the random drawing for the scholarship is Friday, April 16th at 10 am. We don’t want your students to miss out! So please encourage them to sign up quickly.

The Failure Scholarship
The Failure Scholarship is an annual scholarship award available for graduating, college-bound Colorado high-school seniors. The Failure Scholarship is open to all seniors, regardless of intended field of study in college. Student must submit a creative project (created as a school project or otherwise) that is representative of the individuals own identity and life experiences. Projects of all types will be considered, including, but not limited to visual arts, performing arts, fashion, technology, design, and others. The creative project must be created solely by the applicant, group projects will not be accepted. We want to get to know YOU through your creative project. A 500 – 1,000 word essay about your artwork must be submitted.
