Cell Organelles Analogy:
By: Nick McDonough
I will be making analogies to the PLANT CELL and its organelles and functions, the analogies will be represented by a FOOTBALL STADIUM
The organelles I will be using are; Cell Wall, Cell Membrane, Nucleus, Vacuole, Mitochondria, Cytoplasm, Chloroplasts and the Apparatus.
The Cell Wall
The Cell wall protects, supports and holds everything in the cell. So, the Cell Wall would be like the stadium walls. They support the fans and holds them in and protects the inside from the outside.
Cell Membrane
A Cell Membrane would be like the ticket scanner at the front gate of the stadium. It controls what or who goes in and and out.
Vacuole
The vacuole is the storage place of the cell it stores food an water for the cell so, the vacuole would be like the locker room or equipment room, where it stores balls, cones and gatorade for the players.
Nucleus
The nucleus is like the brain of the cell it controls all the movements and what the cell does, so the nucleus would be like the Owner of the team, like how the owner sets the rosters and chooses who the coaches are what the team does.
Mitochondria
In this case mitchondria would be like gatorade, or the oxygen the players are given on the sidelines, it gives them energy just like mitochondria does with the cell.
Cytoplasm
Cytoplasm could be any number of things, i think it could be the contract/coach/superbowl. The contract because it holds the player in the league to give for their family. Coach because if you have a hard time with a teammate the coach helps solve the problem and holds you accountable. And the Super Bowl because everyone is all in because and all want the same prize and holds all 32 teams. The cytoplasm holds everything together in the cell and lets it do its job and doesn't let it flow around in the cell.
Chloroplasts
Chloroplast would be like the 4th quarter or the fans, the players take their energy and show it on the field while playing, so the fans/4th quarter sparks/provides energy for the player to play and work properly just like chloroplasts does in the plant cell.
Apparatus
The apparatus would be like the ref, they make sure everything is in check and distribute everything and the supplies. Just like the apparatus distributes and makes proteins for the cell.
