MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT
Greetings MVCSD Community,
As we near the end of the year, I want to congratulate everyone on their accomplishments this year. Each high school held a convocation to recognize the phenomenal year that their seniors had. Several students also won well deserved scholarships. I’m excited to see you all at graduation this week! Congratulations to all the scholar-athletes who were recognized at the Mount Vernon Athletics Sports Awards as well.
Our scholars have achieved great things this year. Several students at Mount Vernon High School are close to receiving their Seal of Biliteracy. This distinction shows just how hard they worked learning another language, and it will open many doors for them in the future.
Nelson Mandela/Dr. Hosea Zollicoffer School held their first ever Multicultural International Food Festival. We celebrate diversity and inclusion in Mount Vernon, and it is always important to recognize the many cultures that make up this school district.
Kindest Regards,
Dr. K. Veronica Smith
Acting Superintendent of Schools
