Principal's Message
Dear Memorial Families,
Traditions are very important to us at MMES. We have a number of long-standing traditions at MMES including our Annual Spaghetti Supper. The Spaghetti Supper started years ago as a fundraiser for our Scholarship Fund. Money raised that evening goes to support families who are experiencing financial hardships that would otherwise limit their child's experience at MMES. In the past, scholarship money has been used to pay for field trips, school supplies, after-school programs, etc. for students in need.
For the past few years, we have had many conversations between staff, PTO, and myself about how can we re-invent the evening to be a night of quality, old-fashioned family time. We are all so busy these days that finding time to simply enjoy the company of our friends and family is harder and harder to do. The PTO, staff, and I have a great plan to revamp the evening!
Next Thursday night, we will have our PTO Spaghetti Supper and Show night! We will have one seating at 5:30 in the gymnasium and the event will be limited to the first 200 people. The gymnasium will be transformed to a dinner theater of sorts where families will be treated to a delicious meal served by our staff posing as waiters and waitresses. During dinner, guests will be treated to an entertaining and magical performance! The event will be a nice night out for families to spend time together, enjoy a great meal and entertainment, and support a great cause.
We hope to see you all there!
You can purchase tickets at www.mmpto.org...hurry before they are all gone!
Enjoy the weekend!
John

Halloween is coming soon!
From www.safekids.org
As you plan for a fun night of trick or treating for your children please consider safety first!
- Decorate costumes and bags with reflective tape or stickers and, if possible, choose light colors.
- Choose face paint and makeup whenever possible instead of masks, which can obstruct a child’s vision.
- Have kids carry glow sticks or flashlights to help them see and be seen by drivers.
- When selecting a costume, make sure it is the right size to prevent trips and falls.
