A Message from our Principal, Mr. Pflugrath...
Dear Osbourn Family,
I hope you and your family are well. Last week our students were very busy with their academics, art show, holiday fest, athletics, and the Manassas Christmas Parade on Saturday. Our students completed their safety drills in perfect fashion for the calendar year. We had another great turnout for Saturday Learning Seminar yesterday. We only have two weeks left in the semester! This is the time to check your grades in PowerSchool and turn in any missing assignments. Students, please take advantage of the Saturday Learning Seminar this weekend from 9-12 in the library, including free tutoring and a free breakfast. I hope you can come out and see our Choral Concert on Thursday, December 9th at 7 pm in the auditorium. The Art Show will remain on display the rest of the week in the Fine Arts Commons. A friendly reminder, the deadline for Virtual Virginia’s spring semester is December 9th. Parents who plan on enrolling their students in Virtual Virginia must inform their child’s counselor by that date.
Congratulations to our girls’ and boys’ basketball teams for earning their first victories of the season in the season opener versus Manassas Park High School. We look forward to following you this season. Keep up the good work.
As always, thank you for your continued partnership and please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
#OneOsbourn
Sincerely,
Mike Pflugrath
Principal

Winter Weather
Tuesday morning, we saw the first snowflakes of the season. While that event was quick and light, it’s a reminder to prepare for inclement weather.
There are several ways you can find out if inclement weather will affect the school day. The MCPS Website is generally the first and fastest mode of communication during emergency weather closings. Other communication channels will be updated as quickly as possible including email, text, website, social media, and news stations.
Plan ahead for the winter season. Bookmark the MCPS website, plan for childcare if needed, and make sure your children know where they will go if school is closed, dismissed early, or open late.

Masks, Masks, Masks
Please help your student adhere to our mask policy. Masks are still worn at all times by both staff and students indoors and on school buses, but are not required when eating or when outside. Students should be sure to leave home with a mask as they head out to school
and a spare back-up in their backpack would be a great idea. Please help us keep all students and staff safe!

Glow of the Week
Our Fine and Performing Arts Department did an amazing job with the Holiday Fest performance last week. It was uplifting to see the students signing and performing all as one group, OneOsbourn, all together. The talents of our students shined as they continue the legacy of excellence in our performing arts department.

Congratulations to our students that have a GPA of 4 or more for the first marking period!!!!!
