CHS Principal Selected
Board Selects a Familiar Face
Welcome to Dr. Teresha Jones-Hamilton!
The Tuscaloosa City Board of Education approved the hire of Dr. Teresha Jones-Hamilton as the new principal of Central High School Tuesday night. Jones-Hamilton is a veteran educator who has worked in TCS for all but two years of her career, but got her start at the school as a 1999 alumnus of the school.
She brings to her new post experience as a curriculum director for the school with an emphasis on continuing the work CHS has done in the past few years.
Superintendent Dr. Mike Daria said her skillset is matched by her commitment to the CHS community.
"She is a leader who has already demonstrated her commitment and passion for Central High School," said Daria. Her strengths in instructional leadership and a vision for CHS make her a great fit for a great school."
The former CHS basketball player says she is excited to lead her alma mater.
"I can see myself in each of these students because I have walked these halls because I have been a student here at Central High School," said Jones-Hamilton. "I am just really excited about the opportunity lead this charge and continue the move toward excellence that we have going on here."
