How Can I Help?
Remember, your librarian is here to support learning and instruction. Teachers, this means I can help you by:
- Collaborating on an upcoming research project
- Teaching timely, relevant lessons to support your curriculum, such as how to use Encyclopedia Britannica for research or why/how to cite sources
- Gathering resources to help you with a lesson/unit
- Reading aloud a picture book, chapter, etc to your classes to reinforce concepts
These are a few examples. Please let me know how I can assist you!
Black History Month
February is Black History Month. Here are a few websites that you might find helpful. We also have many great books available in the library!
BrainPop--With our new campus subscription, teachers and students may fully access the Spotlight on Black History feature, which includes biographies, videos, quizzes, etc. If you need the campus login or educator code, please let me know.
Award Winners
Every January, the American Library Association announces numerous book awards, including the Newbery and Caldecott winners. Check the links below for all the details!
Monthly Book Trailer
This month's pick is The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate. The book website includes the book trailer. This touching book won the Newbery Award last year, and it is currently on the Bluebonnet Reading List.
