Timberwolf Times
A peek at the week
Lost and found is overflowing!
Lost and Found items will be on display next week, Monday 9th- Wednesday 18th. These items will be laid out down the 2nd grade grade/music hallway and across from nurse Jen. Students will be allowed to walk by all week and look to see if they recognize anything. Anything leftover gets donated. If you have your child is missing something, feel free to pop by and check out the items.
Our Circle of Friends Club
A note of gratitude from Ron, Chrystal and Cody Lee Andrews:
This is just a note of gratitude from Ron, Chrystal and Cody Lee Andrews to all of the Hicks Staff, the Bus Drivers, Cafeteria Staff and last but not least, all Hicks student’s families.
As you may have noticed, I have not been working much lately. Some of you are aware that, my husband was diagnosed with Cancer, Stage 4, and it has spread everywhere, including a small spot on his brain. Many of you have been diligently praying for my family. Some of you were not made aware of the circumstances yet word back to us, was how everyone was praying, and had put us on church prayer lists. We are so in your debt for being so gracious wanting to do that for us. We are seeing some improvements, and we believe it is your prayers.
We have a long road ahead of us as Ron’s Chemo treatments continue through March of 2020 and possibly beyond. Hopefully, in February, the treatments will prove helpful and a better diagnosis will be shared out to us.
Also, my family and I have literally been overwhelmed by the abundance of generosity, and brought to tears due to everyone’s contributions such as the sweetest cards hand created by many, many students, your gracious monetary gifts, and beautiful heartfelt encouraging sentiments, books, and such unwavering kindnesses, all delivered to us by a kind staff member in what I call “Our Box of Love.”
We hope this little note shows how deeply we appreciate everyone who works at Hicks, and all the beautiful families who are part of Hicks whom we are privileged to be associated with. We feel uplifted and so undeserving of Our Box of Love.
I am learning that, “…love is most strong when you learn to trust…even with all the doubts.” Please, keep praying for us and specifically for Ron’s cancer to go into remission—for a very long time.
Thank you, Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. ` `
Take care,
Chrystal, Ron and Cody Lee Andrews
Hicks Spirit Night!
The Penguin Patch Holiday Shop
Dear Parents,
The Penguin Patch Holiday Shop is coming to our school! Next week, on December 10-12 from 10 AM-2 PM, your child will be able to participate in a fun holiday shop (not a fundraising event) where they can purchase presents for family members this holiday season.
Parent volunteers will assist children while shopping to allow them to enjoy the spirt of giving. Each class will have an allotted time slot that their teacher will sign up for during the holiday shop times. There are over 100 different gifts that can be purchased for as little as $.25 and up to $12.00 each. Most items are under $5. A form was sent home on Wednesday attached with an envelope to be completed and returned (with cash) for the event if you choose to participate.
We are looking for volunteers to help set up the shop on Monday, 12/8 from 10am to 2pm and during the shop operating hours on December 10/11/12 from 10am to 2pm.
You can sign up to volunteer via the links below:
