2023-2024 Spirit Grant Announcement
Announcing the 2023-2024 Spirit of 67 Foundation Grants!
The Spirit of 67 Foundation awarded nearly 30 educational grants today totaling over $200,000 for the upcoming 2023-24 school year! Thanks to our generous community and nearly 75% of our District 67 families who support the Spirit of 67, these grants will enrich the education of our students for years to come.
Kristen Lee, Vice President of the Spirit of 67 Grants Team commented, “Each Grant Day, the Spirit is overjoyed to see the excitement of our students, teachers, staff, and building leaders as we provide them with innovative and interactive grants that help fulfill the Spirit's mission of enhancing and enriching the District 67 experience! We are grateful to our generous families and community who partner with us to support District 67 teachers and staff impact every student, in every school, every day.”
Grants were awarded to the Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, Wellness, STEAM, World Language and Fine Arts departments. A few highlights include: inclusive and accessible playground equipment at Cherokee, the creation of an outdoor classroom at DPM, and character building/anti-bullying assemblies for Everett, Sheridan, and Cherokee. These new grants, along with annual favorites like the Playmakers Laboratory Workshops, Visiting Authors, Visiting Scientists, and more will be enjoyed by District 67 students!

Announcing the Crosstown Competition Winner...Cherokee Elementary School!
The Crosstown Competition has ended and the crowned winner is Cherokee with 85.7% family participation! It was a close race this year! Cherokee will retain the title and the traveling trophy that will be housed in the school for another year. Additionally, they will receive a popsicle party on a day in the coming weeks.
We are very thankful to the families at all of the District schools for their incredible support and participation.

It is the mission of the Spirit of 67 Foundation to raise funds and acquire resources to provide enriching educational and cultural experiences for the students, parents, faculty and staff of Lake Forest School District 67 that might not otherwise be provided. Since its founding in 1985, the Spirit has funded over 750 unique grants totaling over $6 million to support excellence in our schools; providing curricular enhancements, resources & tools that enrich the educational experiences of all of our students.
This lasting legacy is due to our dedicated volunteers, the generosity of district families and the commitment of local businesses, community members and corporations to support the mission of the Spirit.

Continue to support our students while having some well-deserved fun. The Spirit of 67 Foundation invites you to Rock the Spirit! Bring your spouse or a friend on April 29 at 6:30pm to enjoy live music, dancing, food, open bar, amazing raffle and auction items plus priceless student experiences at Ferrari Lake Forest (990 N Shore Dr, Lake Bluff)! All funds raised go right back to enhance student educational and cultural experiences in our District 67 Schools. Tickets are almost sold out!
