SAFETY AND SECURITY
We understand when you drop your child off at our front doors you want to know as you drive away that your child will be safe until you see them again at 3:15.This has been a difficult time for all of us because of the recent threats & tragedies in many schools. I wanted to reassure our community that student & staff safety and security is our top priority! Below is a list of systems currently in place:
All doors locked, only access is through the secured front door.
All visitors present a state issued ID to secretary who scans the ID for verification and access to the building.
Lockdown, lock out, shelter in place and evacuation drills are practiced systematically throughout the school year.
Focus on building a positive climate and culture at Cherrelyn
Teaching character education and bully prevention lessons
Key staff members carry radios for emergency communication
Starting Tuesday, Feb. 27th, we began our 17 Day Kindness Challenge. We kicked off each morning with a Kindness Assembly to watch a video and discuss how to be kind to each other.Students and staff are challenged to perform at least one Act of Kindness each day! If you receive a Kind Act from someone you acknowledge it by writing the act on a slip of paper. These slipes turn into links then are joined to create a chain that hangs in the school. When you join us for Parent Teachers Conferences, March 21st and 22nd, you will see the results of our Kindness Challenge! One Random Act of Kindness can change a person's life!
2018-2019 REGISTRATION
Englewood parents can now register their students for the 2018-2019 school year through the Parent Portal in Infinite Campus. We ask parents to re-register their students each year to make sure we have accurate and updated information for every student and to help us predict class sizes and staffing. To find registration in your Parent Portal account, click on online registration in the bottom left-hand corner. We encourage parents to complete registration as soon as possible. If you have questions, please contact your school's office.
