Within each of our guided reading groups, students are reading historical fiction novels. Each reading group is looking at how the characters within their book overcome challenges in history. While reading, students are identifying articles from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights that are being challenged or upheld. Each group will finish reading their novel by the December break. In January, we will begin the final persuasive writing assessment piece associated with each novel.
