Calling for Band Camp Volunteers
August 2nd through the 5th
YOU are the glue within the glue
A top-notch, successful summer band camp can either make or break the season. Parkway South High's Marching Band has been incredibly fortunate over the years with a very successful summer camp program where all marchers, directors and staff come together and focus on the music and the marching. No other activity advances our marchers like band camp. And, none of our marchers can advance without the help of volunteers. Volunteers are the key to the success of our band camp and we need many hands to make work manageable for those of us already contributing a good deal of our time.
Here are the ways YOU can help:
- Ensure our marchers have plenty of cool water and stay safe from the heat
- Provide first aid
- Provide kitchen clean up (help clean the kitchen and dining room after meals)
- Monitor marchers during breaks (Pool, the Wall, Cabins, Dorms, etc.)
- Moving equipment throughout the day
- Assist with team building games
- Assist with camp setup (Thursday morning) and clean-up (Sunday morning)
- Assist in the kitchen
- Stay overnight and be a Cabin Moms or Dorm Dads: Ensure the safety of our marchers as well as ensure that each youth gets the support they need.
