News From the Principal
Hello TES Families,
I hope you all are enjoying the summer and time with friends and family! Can you believe school will start in two short weeks!? August 29th is quickly approaching and I would like to provide you with some important information for the upcoming school year. We can't wait to welcome our students back in person! It is going to be a GREAT year!
You should be receiving an email from our district today with detailed health and safety updates. Please look for it and know that masks will not be required this school year. In an effort to start the school year with minimal illness however, the district is providing us with at home Covid test kits. We will have them available for families attending the Kinder/New student orientation on the 26th. Returning students may stop by the front office the week before school starts to pick up a kit. We ask that all students test before returning to school to prevent unnecessary spread of covid. Thank you!

You are NOT required to purchase any supplies for school. Many parents ask however, if there is anything they can purchase for their child in class or for the classroom. Our teachers have compiled grade level lists of the items they recommend your child bring/donate to school. You can find the lists here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DO1Tw7OOeD7PxhlfOV8NibyhFcWCT2vl/view?usp=sharing

Now Recruiting!
Lunch supervision personnel are needed at Tierrasanta Elementary for next school year! Do you live in the area and are available between the hours of 11:25 and 12:15 (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday)? If so, TES needs you! Help our school and make a little money at the same time. Starting pay is $12.81/hour. The job entails supervising children during their lunch period (both on the playground and at the lunch tables). If interested, or you know someone who is, please contact me at sviavada@sandi.net . Thank you!
Para Educators Needed! We have three open PIF positions available (two 6 hour/day positions and one 5 hour/day position). These are classroom aide positions and starting pay is $19.40/hour with full benefits included! The job entails supporting our students with disabilities in the classroom under the direct supervision of a classroom teacher. You will be working with small groups or with individual students in their classrooms. Please contact Alyson Gore at agore@sandi.net if interested.
Moving or Not Returning?
If you know you are moving or will not be returning to TES this year, please contact the front office or myself to let us know ASAP (619-605-2500). The sooner we know the better as we plan for staffing, classroom locations and student placements. We appreciate your attention to this matter!
After School Care registration (provided on-site by Recreation Unlimited) can be found here: https://rec-unlimited.org . It is fee based and NOT run by or affiliated with the school. Recreation Unlimited rents the space on the school campus to run their program. The program is currently full but names are being taken for the wait list.
Student Computers
All incoming 2nd-5th grade students should have their devices at home with them over the summer (even exiting 5th graders) as devices now follow the student (to whatever district school they attend).
The Instructional Technology Department created the following resources for parents (links below)
