Hillcrest Family Newsletter

September 4th, 2020

Message from Mrs. Lincicum

Thank you for such a strong start! It was wonderful to welcome back students and families and even connect with some of our virtual students! Students have been so responsible in wearing their masks and taking care of each other.

Here are a couple drop Off reminders:

-Drop off AFTER 8:30. We do not have supervision outside until 8:30.

-Cross the through traffic lane at the crosswalk that is supervised by the staff member.

-Use the pull up and drop off for kids who are independent and can get themselves out of the vehicle. Parents need to stay in the vehicle.

-Students have from 8:30 to 8:45 to be dropped off an enter the building. If you come before 8:45 and it looks like an empty playground, that's OK! We want to get students in quickly and not have to stand in line. If it is after 8:45 when you arrive at school, please use door #1.

Thank you for your attention to all of these details. Whenever you set up new procedures for an entire school, it takes some time to learn everything. We really appreciate all of your help in getting students into and out of the building each day!

Share Your Rainbow!

In last week's newsletter, I read the book "Share Your Rainbow". I'd love to what students are looking forward to for the rest of 2020, this season, or this school year. If your child wants to "share their rainbow" and draw a picture. Send a picture of their drawing to hillcrest@waukesha.k12wi.us and we will post it on our school's Facebook page. This is open to all families - virtual and face to face.
Big picture

Webex Use

With iPads coming between school and home, we would like to remind you to monitor your child's iPad app use. Students love to take pictures and record movies but they take up a lot of iPad memory, preventing apps from working properly. Also, students use Webex to communicate with their friends. Be sure to review the messages your child is sending and receiving. We monitor use while students are at school but don't screen each students messages on a regular basis. We rely on families to help monitor tech use at home as well.
