Australia has more than 140 species of marsupials, including kangaroos, wallabies, koalas and wombats. You would be able to see kangaroos in the wild in the rural parts of Australia. Australia's kangaroo population vary between 30 and 60 million.
Marine animals
Australia has the world's largest coral reef system holding 4000 of the world's 22000 types of fish. The larger marine species consist of whale shark, humpback, southern right and orca whales, the dugong, dolphin species and the shark species.
