Cyclone Central Friday eFolder
November 30, 2018
Dear Center Families,
Mayfield City Schools continues to make safety our number one priority. This school year, our front entrance was redesigned, interior cameras have been added, and we now have access to a new visitor management system. Beginning December 10th, all visitors will be asked to present their state or government picture ID. A badge containing the visitor’s name, picture, date, and the reason for the visit will be printed, and the visitor will be instructed to wear the badge throughout his or her visit. Please click on this link for more information (District Announcement). We understand that this change will be an adjustment for many, and we ask for your patience as we all become familiar with these new practices. Thank you in advance for helping us to promote a safe environment for our students and staff.

Annual Jingle Bell Gram Sale
Do you hear the bells ringing? The third graders are working like little elves on a service project. To help the students better understand the economics unit they are studying in social studies, they will be establishing a mock company to sell JINGLE BELL GRAMS to Center School students next week from 7:30 – 7:50 am. The cost of each Jingle Bell Gram is $0.25. The proceeds from the sale will be donated to Toys for Tots. To assist your child in planning, a shopping list is on the back of the note coming home with your child in his/her Friday Folder. The shopping days are listed below:
Tuesday, Dec. 4th-- 2nd & 3rd graders in the MPR
Wednesday, Dec. 5th -- 4th & 5th graders in the MPR
Thursday, Dec. 6th -- K & 1st graders in the MPR
Students go out for recess unless the temperature is below 20 degrees or the wind chill is below 10 degrees. Students may only stay in for recess with a doctor’s note. Have your child bring a coat, hat, gloves, boots, and snow pants each day (when appropriate). All items should be labeled with your child’s name.

Holiday Gifts to Staff Members
As the holiday season approaches, we know many students and parents may be thinking about giving teachers and/or staff members a gift. Please know that our staff members are very appreciative of any cards, gifts, or notes of cheer that may be given to them, but this is not necessary. Spending our days interacting and learning with your children is a valued gift to us all! If a gift is selected, please know that all staff members are required to follow the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators. In accordance with this code, educators may not accept gifts valuing more than $25.
Thank you for all that you do throughout the entire year to recognize our staff for their hard work and dedication and for all that you do to support your child’s learning!
