BVA NEWS
Start of 2020-2021 School Year
Message from Scott Kreshel
Hello BVA Families,
We’re getting close! Thank you for your continued patience and staying in touch as we ready ourselves for the start of school. From Parent to Parent/Guardian, be intentional with this last week before school. Set a curfew, wake up to a morning alarm, take a shower, eat breakfast, etc. Find a dedicated space free of distractions for students to “go to school”. Most importantly, take care of yourselves. Use the upcoming 3-day weekend to re-group and re-energize.
Here are the updates for the week:
BVA Distance Learning Schedule
Block 1 – 9:00-10:10
Block 2 – 10:10-11:20
Lunch w/ Student Support
Block 3 – 12:20-1:30
Block 4 - 1:30-2:50
Students will be in school from 9:00-2:50 and follow the same daily schedule. Each block/class is 70min and includes both synchronous and asynchronous learning, along with individual student support time and transition time to the next class. We also recognize the importance of daily academic and social support which is available over the lunch hour. In addition, there is time included during block 4 to debrief the day and teach Social and Emotional Skills.

All classwork and teacher communication will be through Canvas. Assignments and zoom meetings will be posted within the individual canvas courses. Please refer to the specific message being sent later this week with canvas login information for parents.
