Advanced Planning Visit for the Youth Exchange in Ukraine
When? Where? With whom?
Location: Sumy region, Okhtyrka area, Ukraine.
Who: 4 young people + 1 group leader from Armenia, Georgia, France, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Turkey, UK and Ukraine.
The objectives of the project are:
conflicts and individual young people;
- to develop the skills and motivation for young people to recognize on-line hate
speech and to become ‘on-line activists’ for human rights;
- to equip young people and youth organizations with tools to combat hate speech on-line;
- to provide the participants with tools to organize on-line and off-line campaigns
focused on combating with hate speech and by these means to provide the multiplying effect for the project;
- to build capacities of the partner organizations involved in the project for building cohesive and peaceful communities;
- to provide strong multiplying effect of the project among young people;
- to strengthen the network of young people and youth organizations working on combating hate speech on-line in Europe through the No Hate Speech Movement and National Campaigns.

Participants profile
- 4 young people: young people from local communities of the partner organizations, preferably those who took part in follow-up initiatives organized by the participants of the training course in UK;
- age: 18-25 years old;
- motivation to make positive changes in their local communities and societies as well, experience in engaging in civic initiatives;
- involvement in the on-line or off-line campaign organized by the participants of the training course;
- clear interest to interact with people from diverse social contexts and cultural backgrounds on both national and international level;
- participation in the preparatory country team meeting(s) before
- coming to the exchange programme;
- availability during the whole exchange programme (meaning 8 days and travel) and willing to participate actively;
- ability to work and discuss in the English language on a basic level.
There is an intention to involve those who were personally affected by hate speech (representatives of the LGBTQ+ community, religious, ethnic and national minorities, refugees and IDPs or those who work with these groups).

Venue: Sumy, Ukraine.
Participants: 1 representative from each partner, preferably the participant of the training course in UK.

- Introduction. Meet all the partners at the CEI office. Reviewing the aims and objectives of the youth exchange. Reflection on the local initiatives and their experience of work with youth.
- The youth exchange essentials, dynamics of the youth exchange and the group.
- City Game
July 3
- Practicalities: profile of participants; preparation at home; travel arrangements. Discussion on the venue of the youth exchange.
- Detailed discussion of the programme (day after day), discussion of the activities and its objectives, methods and outputs, discussion, remarks, suggestions and questions, sharing responsibilities.
- Discussion of the youth exchange programme. Preparation of the youth groups to the youth exchange.

How to get to Ukraine:
The closest airport to Sumy is Kharkiv (HRK). But there are not many flights, so it may be more convenient for you to fly from Kyiv: Boryspil (KBP) or Zhulyany (IEV).
We will organize your trip from the airport to the venue:
1) If you fly to Kharkiv: the trip will take around 2-3 hours (200 UAH ~ 7.5 EUR, one way);
2) If you fly to Kyiv: the trip will take around 5-5.5 hours (300 UAH ~ 10 EUR, one way).
In case you are coming to Kyiv by bus or train we will also assist with the transfer to Sumy.

We will provide you with more detailed information as soon as we will have your details about arrival to Ukraine.

Maximum amounts to be reimbursed (EUR):

Reimbursement of the travel costs will only be done after submitting all original tickets, receipt/invoices, boarding passes and later sending of the return documents and boarding passes. Save the boarding passes from your airport check in as well. Please, be aware that in case you loose any invoices or tickets we will not be able to reimburse the cost. Reimbursement will be done in EURO, regardless of the currency indicated on your ticket and receipt/invoice according to the official currency exchange rate of European Commission.
! Note: in case of higher travel cost, you will need to cover excess yourself.
Important: the reimbursement of travel costs for participants will be done via a bank transfer to the bank account.
Youth exchange venue
Accommodation: the participants will be lodged in rooms for 3 people in the house park “Slavna” (Sumy region, Okhtyrka area).
Food: you will have three meals and two coffee-breaks a day. Please, inform about your food habits and needs (fast, vegetarian, vegan etc).
Working language: English.
Internet Access: there will be free wi-fi available in the hotel.

Sumy
Sumy is in north Ukraine is situated between Kharkov and Kiev, the country’s two biggest cities. With a population of around 300,000 the city hosts its own cultural life, has several universities and is the economic centre of the Ukrainian Province called Sumy Region.
Founded in 1655 Sumy is 359 years old, and combines great history with modern life. The central street, Soborna, after reconstruction in 2001, is an exact copy of the street's image at the beginning of the twentieth century, and the centre of Sumy is dominated by three big cathedrals. Outside of the small old town the city consists of large apartment buildings built in soviet times. The city is very green, lies on both sides of the Psol River, and is surrounded by lakes and forests. A city of beautiful churches and historical sights, Sumy also has a wide choice of the restaurants, cafes, and nightclubs.

Hosting Organization
Center for Euroinitiatives is a public nonprofit organization which aims at assisting the reformation of Ukraine in accordance with European standards, introducing democratic values, and developing civil society in Ukraine using educational and informational methodologies. Founded in 2008, and previously known as Center for Euroinitiatives, our organization is a team of experts in youth work with international experience, youth leaders, enthusiasts and volunteers.

● Promotion of the ideas of peace, national unity, human rights, gender equality, democratic values in the Ukrainian society;
● Develop programs directed at upbringing of ecological awareness and responsible attitude towards environment.
