Wasco Wolves Earned 4,000 PAWS!!

Wasco Families,

During the school day, our students have the opportunity to earn classroom PAWS for their demonstration of our character expectations: Be Safe, Be Kind, Work Hard, and Do the Right Thing. PAWS are given to classes when they demonstrate working together to learn in the classroom, display consideration for others in the hallway, cooperate in the lunchroom (to name a few). In honor of the amazing accomplishment, we played an all school game of BINGO on Thursday. We hope your child talks with you about this event and how they contributed to the reward. See some class photos below!

A couple weeks ago I shared our excitement about the Empower Show It Off Module. The students have been perfecting their storytelling and representation of ideas and stories. We have a sampling here for you below. Also, families can view final projects on their child's Empower schoology page. If you are unsure how to access your child’s Empower Schoology page, directions are provided here.

Kind Regards,

Principal Brennan

Summary of Empower Projects by Grade Level

Kindergarten and first graders have been working on their puppet shows the past few weeks. Both grade levels have created puppets and backgrounds (the setting) to perform their show while a classmate recorded their performance. As an extension, first graders are learning how to add music and other special effects using a program called WeVideo on their ipads.

Second, third, and fourth graders have been learning how to film and perform in videos as well as how to create elaborate stop motion videos. Students have also been learning how to edit their videos on WeVideo through their chromebook and use special effects like green screens and layering sounds. This past week, students started to brainstorm ideas for their final project.

Lastly, fifth graders have just wrapped up FLEX and have just begun a mini stop motion unit of their own. Students will be working on stop motion projects and learning to edit them in WeVideo.
