Do Something Uncomfortable Today. By Stepping Out of Your Box, You Don't Have to Settle for Where You Are, You Get to Create Where You Want to Be.

Doing things that we do not want to do is often what pushes us toward new possibilities. Doing things that others ask us to do creates opportunities for collaboration, give and take, and on-going, mutual support. Doing things that we would not normally do can bring a group of people together and strengthen a team. Stepping out of our comfort zones, stepping up to meet a need, supporting others with our actions can have a huge impact on us individually and as a whole.

Success does not come from only doing comfortable things, or taking it easy. Doing things we are comfortable doing will continue to get us the results we have already achieved, giving us what we already have. The only way to get better, the only way to improve, is to do things we are not always comfortable doing.

That is it. Not complicated, but very difficult.

I do not want to get up that early.

I do not want to participate in that character lesson.

I do not want to read tonight.

I do not want to participate in dress up days.

I do not want to workout today.

I do not want to have that difficult conversation.

I do not want to write a Cougar Card.

I do not want to put in that amount of work.

I do not want to….

Then don’t. Don’t do it, but be sure you are comfortable with the results that you get as well. I think the problem is that we want to complain about our lot in life and what is going poorly, or not working out for us, instead of doing what others are not willing to do to even when we are not comfortable. I think it’s easy to not participate, not take part, not contribute, to let someone else do it, but then we get frustrated when the tables are turned. Do something that makes you uncomfortable sometimes, or be satisfied with saying I will never be able to _____. It’s your life, you fill in the blank.

I challenge you to do something this week that makes you uncomfortable, something for yourself or for someone else, and see what new possibilities arise.

Thank You for Helping Us Celebrate 100 Days!

Shout Out to All of These Students for Making CN Great!
