Upcoming Events / Dates

Day of Awesomeness - October 5:

Throughout the month of September, the PTO raised money to support student activities/events, supplemental materials, student incentives, scholarships, and more! We thank you for your support!

To celebrate, we have planned a Day of Awesomeness on October 5th. This event will take the place of the Fun Run. The Day of Awesomeness will include inflatables, DJ, and prizes.

Please complete the parent permission form to allow your child to participate in the “Day of Awesomeness.” Completed forms can be turned in to your child’s teacher. Permission forms will be sent home on September 28. We kindly ask that all forms be turned in no later than Tuesday, October 4.

Half Days of School - October

During the month of October, we have four half days of school. On these days, school will be dismissed at 11:55am. Please see below for specific dates of these half days of school.

Fall Book Fair - Week of October 17:

The Scholastic Book Fair is back! During the week of October 17, students and families will have the opportunity to shop at the book fair. During the school day, each class will have a designated time to shop. The book fair will be open to parents/guardians during Parent-Teacher conferences. Please see below for dates/hours.

Thursday, October 20 - MPR

  • 1:00pm - 3:00pm
  • 5:00pm - 8:00pm

An informational packet will be sent home with all students on October 4. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Galasso in the Media Center.

PTO Meeting - October 18 @ 7pm:

The PTO would like to invite all parents/guardians to our PTO meeting on October 18. We hope you can join us as we begin to plan exciting activities and events for our families and kids!

During this meeting, Mr. Lewis will discuss school safety with parents/guardians.

PTO meetings are held, at Cheyenne, in the MPR.

Parent-Teacher Conferences:

Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences will be in-person and will be held on October 19 and October 20. Please see below for specific times.

Coffee with the Principal - October 21

On October 21, please join Mr. Lewis from 9:15am - 10:00am for coffee and conversation. This forum is design for parents/guardians to discuss information related to Cheyenne with Mr. Lewis. Please use Door #7. If you have any questions, please contact the main office.

Red Ribbon Month - Week of October 24:

Research supports the devastating academic, mental health, and negative developmental effects that can result from youth use of Alcohol and Marijuana, Vaping Nicotine and THC, and use of other drugs.

We encourage you talk to your child about the importance of staying drug-free.

Halloween - October 31:

We are very excited to celebrate Halloween at Cheyenne!

Student Costumes:

  • On October 31, students are invited to wear their costumes to school.
  • Although students can wear their costumes to school, we ask that students not wear masks, bring weapons (real or fake), or have bloody/gory costumes.
  • We also ask that students come prepared to school by already wearing their costume.

School Parade:

  • On October 31, we will have a costume parade at 9:30am.
  • Weather permitting the parade will be outdoors and parents/guardians are invited to watch. In the event of inclement weather, the indoor parade will be recorded for parents/guardians to view.

Classroom Party:

  • On October 31, all classes will have a Halloween Party.
  • If you are interested in helping to coordinate or volunteering for the party, please contact your child's teacher. Each class will have a limit of five volunteers. If more than five people volunteer, teachers will randomly choose.
  • All volunteers need to have an approved background check on file.

We are very excited to bring back music concerts to Cheyenne. More information regarding these performances will be sent home soon. In the mean time, please save the following dates!

School Volunteers:

The district has developed a new process for Criminal Record Checks (background checks) this year. In the past, potential volunteers completed a paper form and submitted it to the main office. The paper form has moved online and has been replaced with a digital form.

In order for potential volunteers to receive the digital form, a request must first be submitted by a staff member. Requests can only be submitted if there is an upcoming activity, event, or special reason a volunteer is needed. Please contact your child's classroom teacher for volunteer opportunities.

Note: volunteers must complete a CRC form every school year; ALL volunteers must have an approved CRC form on file

Parents to Preorder School Lunch:

This school year Cheyenne will be using an online lunch ordering system. In previous school years, students would place a school lunch order with their classroom teacher one day prior to eating. The online ordering system will allow parents to easily preorder school lunch for their child. This system will replace ordering school lunch with the classroom teacher. All school lunch orders will need to be placed using the online preorder form. Please complete this form at the beginning of each month.

Using the link below, please take a moment to preorder lunch for this month. This process will help us efficiently and accurately order enough food for students. It will also significantly reduce the amount of instructional time lost by taking lunch count within our classrooms.

- Please complete the entire form (entire month).
- Please order school lunch for each student individually.
- Please only complete ONE form per student.
- Please ensure there is enough money in your child's lunch account.
- If you receive free lunch, please still preorder lunch.
- After submitting the form, you are able to print a receipt of your selections.

Message from Food Services:

The federal USDA waivers that allowed school districts to provide breakfast and lunch at no cost to students expired on June 30, 2022. For the 2022/2023 school year, families who do not qualify for free or reduced meals will resume paying full prices for school meals.

If your student qualifies for free or reduced meals, you must complete the 2022-2023 online application at to receive this benefit. Even if you completed the 2021-2022 application, you still need to complete the 2022-2023 application as well. Completing an application is the only way to be considered for free or reduced meals next school year.

In addition, Chippewa Valley Schools has made the decision to cover the cost of students that qualify for reduced price meals for the 22/23 school year. This means there will be no charge for breakfast or lunch for all students that qualify for free or reduced meals.

If you do not qualify for free or reduced meals, you may begin depositing money into student accounts at any time to prepare for the cost of school meals next year. Meal prices for the 2022-2023 school year will be $2.75 for elementary lunch, $3.00 for middle/high lunch and $1.55 for breakfast at all grade levels. We have been fortunate to have not changed the prices for the last 9 years. is a new website where families can access their student’s meal account, add money, manage parental controls and apply for free and reduced meals all in one stop! If you previously had a account, use the same email when you register to Family Portal and all information will transfer over. Breakfast is served daily at Cheyenne. Breakfast begins at 8:45am. Students who are purchasing breakfast should enter the building using Door #7. Door #7 is in the North parking lot near the loading dock.

Medication Dispensation Forms:

Specific forms are used district wide and must be properly filled out and returned before any medication can be dispersed to your child during the school day.

The forms can be accessed by using the button below or picked up in the main office at Cheyenne. Please turn in completed forms to the main office at Cheyenne.

Other Student Medical Forms:

Other medical forms such as asthma, concussion, diabetes, Epi-pen, food allergy, seizure, and general health can be accessed by clicking the button below. Please turn in completed forms to the main office at Cheyenne.

SACC Program

Child Care:

The School Age Child Care Program strives to provide a safe environment where staff strive to meet the emotional, social, and physical needs of the children. A nurturing environment for all children, with respect for self and others. We are pleased to be part of your family’s childcare experience and look forward to a wonderful school year.

Due to limited staff and capacity limits, some registrations may not be approved until adequate staff are available.

Once your registration application is submitted through Eleyo, you must receive the registration approval email before your child may attend.

Registrations will remain pending in the system to be approved as openings become available.

2022-2023 Registration - Registrations will be online and will require AutoPay (credit card)
