Warming Shelters

The Washington County Severe Weather Shelter network is open Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings each week through November 20th when the number of shelters will increase - stay tuned for updates! If you want to support this great network of volunteers in their efforts to save lives during the winter months, please make donations directly to the shelter(s) of your choice. This year we have eight (8) shelters:

· Beaverton -Just Compassion of East Washington County and the City of Beaverton (partnership)
· Hillsboro - Sonrise Church
· Forest Grove - Forest Grove United Church of Christ and Forest Grove Sonrise Church
· Sherwood - St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church
· Tigard - Calvin Presbyterian and St. Anthony's Catholic Church
· Tualatin - Rolling Hills Community Church

Please post and share the attached updated shelter schedule with homeless persons seeking a hot meal and overnight shelter bed. The current schedule can always be found online here:

Hawthorn Walk-in Center

The Hawthorn Walk-in Center provides urgent care services for mental health and addiction concerns. If you or someone you care about is experiencing any of the following, we can help:

  • Confused thinking
  • Prolonged depression (sadness or irritability)
  • Feelings of extreme highs and lows
  • Excessive fears, worries and anxieties
  • Social withdrawal
  • Dramatic changes in eating or sleeping habits
  • Strong feelings of anger
  • Strange thoughts or beliefs (delusions)
  • Seeing or hearing things that aren’t there (hallucinations)
  • Growing inability to cope with daily problems and activities
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Numerous unexplained physical ailments
  • Substance use
