Notes from the Principal

Where has time gone? It is hard to believe we have started our fifth six weeks! We have recently set some end of the year goals in regards to our reading. We are challenging our students to improve their istation scores by using Olympic Medals for each of our levels. We are shooting for 70% Gold, 15% silver and 15% bronze. Students will earn a campus wide reward for meeting the goal. Please encourage your students to do their best when working on istation. Istation is a online program that helps students improve letter knowledge, phonemic awareness, comprehension, vocabulary and spelling.

Character Lesson

This six weeks we are focusing on perseverance. We will be reading Salt In His Shoes by Deloris Jordan. In this book, students will learn about how Micheal Jordan faced defeat as a child but learned a valuable lesson about what it takes to be a champion. Perseverance is a steady persistence in a course of action in spite of difficulties, obstacles or discouragement.
