Faith Moment

The Advent season began on November 29th! CKCS LOVES Advent because it brings hope, peace, joy and love!

How do we celebrate Advent at Christ-King? Well we start with a school assembly each Monday (led by a different grade) to introduce the new week of Advent. We set up our school Christmas tree, decorate our classrooms, and start practicing for our Advent Concert!

Each classroom...

-Lights their Advent wreath every day!

-Builds a Nativity scene by adding a new piece every day and learning about the significance of that piece!

And of course we learn about the FULL Christmas Story through our Jesse tree!

Catholic Education Sunday

We celebrated Catholic Education Sunday on November 7th at Christ-King Catholic Church. Our staff members attended Mass where we celebrated having the amazing option of publicly funded Catholic Education because not every province is as blessed!

We had students read during Mass, Mrs. McMillan spoke and all staff received a blessing from Father Roger.

Christ the King Feast Day

We celebrated Christ the King Feast Day on November 21st. Christ the King Feast Day marks the LAST Sunday of the liturgical year! And the day that we get to celebrate Christ-King Catholic School because it is our namesake!

We celebrated by having a virtual assembly, and all our students made crowns!

Face2Face came on November 25th! With the theme of "Great Things" they worked with each cohort group and sang songs, played games, and talked about how God wants to do great things with our lives if we only let him! When we seek God's purpose in our life, incredible things can happen!

Face2Face Ministries is a multi-faceted Catholic ministry of evangelization reaching out primarily to youth. They offer a variety of services to the Church of Western Canada, including weekend Youth Retreats, Ignite Summer Camps, Bus Trips, United Conference, School Retreats, Confirmation Retreats, individual speaking engagements, and more. All of their events strive to help people encounter Christ and embrace the call to be saints!

A huge thank you to the CKCS School Council who sponsored the event!

Ornament Raffle Sales Begin!

Our annual ornament raffle sale starts on December 6th. What is the annual ornament raffle you may ask? It is a way that CKCS gives back during the Advent season!

Every year, the CKCS staff donate ornaments to decorate our school's Christmas tree in the foyer.

Students can purchase tickets for $1 each (no limit). Each ticket will go into a draw and on the week of Dec. 13-17 we continuously draw names. If chosen, the student may pick an ornament off the tree to take home. We continue to draw until all the ornaments are gone and our tree is bare!

This year, all proceeds will be donated to the Stettler Christmas Hamper to help those in need in our community.
