GREETINGS FROM PRINCIPAL FERGUSON!
Thank you so much to all of our families for your commitment to our Crosby Kids! Your attendance at Parent Teacher Conferences was wonderful, and it is so exciting to share conversations about the amazing things our students are doing each day. I greatly appreciate all you did to connect with our staff in this unusual, but effective way. Even though it was our first time holding conferences virtually, and using the ZOOM platform, I am very grateful for this positive outcome.
Through Google Forms, we had 93% of the families respond to the conference sign up, and schedule a meeting time. Out of our current enrollment of 699 students, only 48 families were unable to attend. If you were unable to attend, please contact your child's teacher or the office, and we can still get a conference scheduled for you this week. Your child's teacher may have already reached out to you to set one up. I believe there is great value in working together, school and home, to provide the best learning experience we can for our amazing scholars!
On Thursday, October 15th, we will have a final supply pick up for the kindergarten families. This will be an opportunity to pick up the kindergarten learning materials that our teachers have prepared for all kindergarten students to use while learning remotely for the second quarter. We will have a special guest, "CrosBee" out in front of the school, and we hope the kindergarten families can drive by to say hello to your teachers and pick up your supplies. Please drive right up in the car rider line in front of the school, and we will direct you to your teacher who will be on the sidewalk watching for you. All families must stay in their cars, and all staff will be wearing masks. The "Drive-Hi" will be from 5:00-6:00 pm.
Just a reminder that the first quarter of school is coming to an end. The last day for the first quarter will be on Friday, October 16th, and the second quarter will begin on Monday, October 19th. Our teachers will enter grades in PowerSchool, and families can access their child's report card on PowerSchool by Friday, October 23rd.
Parents/Guardians will just need to login to your account in PowerSchool to view your child's grades and attendance. In this newsletter, you will see the information for viewing your child's report card in PowerSchool. Please do not hesitate to contact the office if you have any questions on how to access this.
Once again, I thank you all for your support, and dedication in making this the best school year for our students. It is a privilege and honor for me to have this opportunity to be your principal. Have a wonderful week!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kathleen Ferguson
