North Gwinnett High School student featured on TV show “All-Round Champion”
North Gwinnett High School student, Samantha Fraser,will be included in the “All-Round Champion” cast for the show’s upcoming fifth season. The show highlights nationally recognized junior athletes from the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada. For the first time in the reality show’s history, Season 5 will feature a cast fully comprised of para-athletes – competitors with physical disabilities. However, true to the format, they won't be competing in their own sports; they'll be competing in each other's to see how proficient they can become in a new sport in a short period of time.
Samantha coaches Para Track at North Gwinnett High School’s Adapted Sports Program and is currently a Varsity Player. She spent the summer of 2022 filming the TV show in Canada. The show’s first episode aired on BYU.tv on Sunday, Jan. 15th at 8:00 p.m. and can be viewed on any smart TV’s web browser or any mobile device. You can view her interview here.
This latest season arrives on the heels of the series winning Best Children's or Youth Non-Fiction Program or Series at the 2022 Canadian Screen Awards.The 10-episode, 60-minute series is hosted by Olympian and World Champion Perdita Felicien, who mentors the young athletes, along with weekly sports stars that coach and encourage the participants through their respective sports. For this fifth season, some of the sports stars include Britain's most successful Paralympic sailor, Helena Lucas; four-time Paralympic swimming gold medalist, McKenzie Coan; 31-time Canadian track champion, Josh Cassidy; and Matt Scott, a two-time Paralympic champion in wheelchair basketball and the first disabled athlete featured in a Nike commercial.

Shiloh High School Athletic Director received national certification
Shiloh High School Athletic Director, Robert E. Wilson, Sr, has been recognized by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) as a Certified Athletic Administrator.
To earn this distinction, Mr. Wilson has demonstrated the highest level of knowledge and expertise in the field of interscholastic athletic administration. The voluntary certification process included a thorough evaluation of the candidate's educational background, experience, and professional contributions, as well as a rigorous, comprehensive written examination.
Mr. Wilson. is one of an elite group of interscholastic athletic administrators nationwide to attain this level of professionalism. For more information, visit the NIAAA website at www.niaaa.org.
Summerour Elementary School hosts students and their families at the “The Bridge” restaurant
Summerour Middle School hosted their first Blue Bucks for PBIS rewards night with “The Bridge”. Students who collected 100 Blue Bucks for being respectful, responsible, and role models earned an opportunity to invite their families to a special “restaurant” at the school. The Bridge, as the restaurant was called, was staffed by staff members who worked behind the scenes to set up the wonderful dining experience. Summerour Staff served, decorated, and made sure celebrated students and families had a fantastic time celebrating “The Bridge” between staff and family! REMINDERS
February 3, 2023 has been designated as a Digital Learning Day
Friday, February 3 is a scheduled Digital Learning Day (DLD) for all students. On scheduled Digital Learning Days all GCPS students access lessons in eCLASS but do not have virtual class time with their teachers. To ensure that students have a nutritious breakfast and lunch to fuel their learning, our bus drivers will be on the road and at every bus stop to deliver meals prepared by the School Nutrition Program staff. Families should expect buses to run their routes from approximately 10:45 a.m. to noon, beginning at the first stops on the route February 3. These delivered meals are provided at no cost to families and are provided to anyone 18 years old and under.
