Congratulations to the Class of 2022

We spent last week celebrating the accomplishments of the Class of 2022. The week began with our Baccalaureate celebration, including an essay by Jackie Bazazi and a night of song. Performances by Chorale and Chamber Choir Chorale, Senior Band Members, and solo performances by Arianna Russo, Abby Beardsley, and Kostas Winslow rounded out the night. Arianna Russo and Abby Beardsley delivered on a duet of "For Good" from the Musical Wicked, and brought the room to tears.

On Thursday, the academic, athletic, and extra-curricular awards were distributed to our graduating students to recognize their ongoing dedication to their passions both in and out of the classroom. A full list of the recipients is included in our graduation program linked below.

On Friday night we were treated to student speeches delivered by Lindsay Byman and Chase Quigley. However, the big event of the evening belonged to all the graduates who spent one last moment as Masconomet Regional High School students. They now take their place as Masconomet alumni. Congratulations to the Class of 2022!

Here is a link to the Graduation Program that includes the list of award winners recognized at the Awards Ceremony on Thursday.

This is the last Memo that will be sent to the Class of 2022 parents and students. I wish you all the best!

Mindfulness Minute

What can you hear right now? Now close your eyes and listen. Did you hear anything more?

Gratitude

I want to extend my gratitude to the individuals in the building who contributed to ensuring the celebration of the Class of 2022 went off smoothly. This includes the school operations team, IT, the building administrative assistants, Mr. O'Keefe and Mr. Ocock for the music and performances, underclassmen advisors, and teachers! A special thanks to Class advisor, Ms. Jillian Fudge and Ms. Katherine Dinardo who played a critical role in making sure the programs (all three) ran smoothly.

Final Exam Preparation

Please follow this link to 10 Steps to Prepare for Final exams. Although the exams "feel" far away, they will sneak up on you quickly. This document shares a few ideas for getting organized.

Just in case you are interested, here is the chart that was shared a few weeks ago. You can start by filling in the "What" so you can then start to plan for the "How." You should include ALL of the assessments, projects, etc as a means to organize yourself. I want to thank my former colleagues for access to these helpful materials.

Morning Update and the Chieftain Chronicle

Please check out our school newspaper, The Chieftain Chronicle, each week for news, editorials, reviews and more! New articles are posted every Friday. You can get more news and updates in this episode of the The Morning Update.

Tri-Town Council Updates

Lots of summer opportunities for High School youth to engage, connect, and serve with Tri-Town Council programs: Camp Invention, Summer Horizons, and 7th Grade Welcome to Masco Fun Night.

Final Exam Conflict Exams

The final exam schedule is now posted. With the final exam published, it has come to my attention that there may be family obligations in conflict with the published exam schedule. Any request to move an exam or take an exam late, needs to come through my office using this google form. No Semester exam will be administered prior to June 17, 2022, the official start of the exam period. However, I am willing to work with you if there is a conflict that can be resolved within the final exam schedule (June 17 - June 23). If we are unable to find a time during the exam period we can work to find a mutually agreeable time to complete the exam during the summer. The first two summer make-up dates will be Monday, June 27 and Tuesday, June 28 at 9:00 AM. Please know, any student who does not complete their exam before June 23, 2022 will likely have an incomplete until school resumes in August.

Students who have filled out the form have received an email from me (or will in the next few days) indicating possible solutions and next steps to remedy the conflicts.
