Every Student... Every Day...
5th & 6th Graders Having Some Fun At Last Friday's Social...
This week our school will begin to take part in the MCAS testing process. CMS will administer the English Language Arts portion of the assessment. Grades 5 & 6 will take Sessions 1 & 2 on Monday and Tuesday. Then grades 7 & 8 will take Sessions 1 & 2 on Wednesday and Thursday. I had the opportunity to speak with all students, reminding them that “their best” is all we ever look for throughout this process. I tell them that there isn’t any added stress because they have the skills necessary to represent their knowledge. Like any coach would say, “Just bring a good attitude and your best effort” and outcomes take care of themselves.
There are a few ways parents and caregivers can assist. Do your best to have your child go to bed early and have a good breakfast in the morning. We are also allowing students to chew gum or have mints (hard candy) during the testing process. Sometimes little things like that help to keep students relaxed, and that’s all we are looking to do.
We all appreciate your support and assistance each and every day. Together we all help steer students in the right direction so that they can acquire skills and gain confidence. I/we appreciate all that you do to partner with us.
Please reach out to me if you have any questions.
Wishing everyone a great week.
Yours in education,
Dean W. Packard - Principal
