Weekly Update May 19, 2023

The Herb N’ Arts Fair at Creekside was a great display of student creativity and art. Students in the GLHS Community Art class organized countless activities for our community to celebrate the arts with art vendors, live music, craft sessions and food trucks!

Also during the day, there was the ribbon cutting for the new student-created murals now on display under the bridge at Creekside. Students from each of our buildings worked on murals that they felt represented the Gahanna community.

Congratulations to all of our GJPS elementary after-school Chinese programs celebrating the end of the school year with plays, presentations and awards. Shoutout to High Point Elementary for the awesome celebration last week!

Students recently shared presentations at the Eighth Grade Middle School East Success Fair. The fair took place in the library and students gave their presentations four or five times throughout the period to fellow students, staff and family members. The projects and presentations got students thinking about their future careers and what they must do in order to achieve them.

Lincoln High School orchestra students recently visited our elementary buildings to perform a concert containing several Disney songs in preparation for the Orchestra’s trip to Disneyworld in Orlando.

In November 2020, voters in the Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools district approved a bond and operating levy to fund Phase Two of the GJPS Master Facilities Plan.

Phase Two of the Master Facilities Plan Includes:

• Additions and renovations to High Point and Blacklick Elementary
• Additions and renovations to Middle School East
• New Lincoln High School on current site

BinaxNOW At-Home COVID-19 Rapid Test Kits are currently available for students and staff currently enrolled in GJPS schools who are EXHIBITING SYMPTOMS of COVID-19.

REQUEST FORM MUST BE COMPLETED IN ADVANCE
While supplies last, you may request kits for:

• The number of students you have enrolled in Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools in your household who are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19.

• The number of GJPS staff in your household who are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19.

A confirmation email will not be sent.
