From the desk of Natalie Kijurna...
Hello!
It's March 20, 2020! The 80th day of the year. There are 286 days left.
Wow! What a difference two weeks makes! In light of the current situation in the United States and the world, I first and foremost want to send my heartfelt wishes that all of you stay healthy and safe over the next few weeks. And, just so you're aware, CCR will still be able to continue to deliver the same great educational experience our students have come to expect. While we have made changes to ensure our staff remain safe, we are in a position to be able to follow the CDC recommended guidelines without any disruption in our service. I'd like to share an email that our President, Jeff Moody, sent to all students and staff. You'll see it below.
As you can imagine, the Job Drawer will not have as many opportunities over the next few weeks, however, I will make sure to stay in touch and answer any questions you might have as we navigate these uncharted waters.
Please take care of yourselves and your loved ones. Americans are nothing if not resilient, and I know we will be back and better than ever very soon!!!
Slainte Mhath!

To CCR Staff and Students:
College of Court Reporting (CCR) continues to monitor the rapidly changing situation related to the Coronavirus - COVID-19. We want to assure students that your education and our philosophy and approach to your education has not changed. As an online college, your instructors and administrators will continue to be there for you without interruption.
In order to protect the safety of CCR employees, we have made some very transparent changes to our working conditions. In 2019 the college invested in hardware, software, phone systems, and Virtual Private Network (VPN) technologies for a secure, virtual workplace and technology infrastructure, which allows our team to work remotely from anywhere with an Internet connection while protecting student information and maintaining the security measures in place within the college. These systems also ensure that our phones and other means of communicating operate seamlessly when working remotely. As a result, we can securely access all necessary materials remotely at any time. Instead of in-person meetings, we will continue utilizing video conferencing, phone calls, and other technologies. Along the way, we will continue to follow any new developments and make any adjustments we feel are in the best interest of our students and staff.
We would also like to update you on the college’s contingency plan. The health and safety of our colleagues, students, visitors, and their loved ones are extremely important to us. Moreover, we have a robust plan, which includes process and technology safeguards to ensure that data is managed and protected and that our systems, such as the online Learning Management System (LMS) for academic coursework, LMS for live and recorded dictation classes, and EV360 Ultimate for supplemental skill development resources, self-evaluation, and testing, are accessible during any disruption.
In short, we will be able to continue to provide our students the education that they have come to expect from our college. We will be reviewing the situation often and will continue with normal business practices once we feel it is appropriate. We appreciate your understanding in these unprecedented times.
Finally, thank you for your trust and confidence in us. You will continue to receive updates as needed. Most importantly, be safe and stay healthy.

I posted this email in the last Job Drawer re: this same position:
Please see email below:
My name is Jinnohn Grose. I am currently an Official Court Reporter in Lincoln, Nebraska. I am hoping to retire in June of 2020 as at that point I will have reached my 45 year anniversary.
The judge that I am presently working for is wonderful in every respect and the bailiff as well is beyond compare. I am hoping to be able to help her find a qualified replacement within the next couple of months.
As a young reporter right out of reporting school years ago, I interned with one of the Officials here in Lincoln. Eventually I was hired by that same Judge a few months later after the reporter retired. It was amazing how much I learned from that reporter and she was then a resource when I had questions and was always there for advice.
We all know there are tremendous differences in many of the judges. Judge Ideus and our bailiff would be an excellent opportunity for a new reporter, giving them the understanding and consideration for that learning curve that needs to take place In those first few months.
Below is a short summary for the job position. Thank you so very much for sharing the information with your students. We look forward to hearing from some of them.
