Message from the Building Administration
Hello Bobcat Families,
On behalf of the WC Petty Staff, the students were sorely missed today as it is a day both staff and students look forward to each year. Days before long breaks are needed for staff and students to say "good-bye" and "see you soon". When those opportunities are cut short, we understand it is disappointing. However, we are looking forward to welcoming students back on Tuesday, January 4th!
Please know we are developing a plan for how we will be addressing student, staff and community anxieties around the recent events which will be shared by the district before students return. I hope everyone is able to get some much needed rest and spend quality time with family and friends.
Sincerely,
Joanna Gerritsen and Jared Reardon
From the Nurse
The State of Illinois School Health Law requires that children in Kindergarten, 2nd and 6th grades have a dental examination on file no later than May 15th of the current school year. A dental examination completed within 18 months prior to May 15th of the current school year is acceptable. If you have not done so, please turn a copy of this exam in to your school nurse. Thank you!

Readers are Leaders!
Make time to relax and enjoy a good book over winter break. Read out loud to a stuffed animal or pet or access one free book each day with Epic (Basic) and hatch a virtual special friend to read aloud to. Swap books with a friend, family member or neighbor or check out our local Little Free Libraries for a free book. Consider a visit to the Antioch Public Library District. Warm up some hot chocolate, snuggle up with a blanket and get lost in a great book! Not sure what to read or how to guide your young reader? Check out GoodReads for the 2021 Yearly Choice Awards and vote for your favorites. Create an account and collaborate alongside friends and family to curate your “up next” reading list by rating and tracking your reading. Maybe you’d rather start a writing journey as a family.
