Kia ora whānau,
Where has the time gone? A sign of a good and much needed holiday break if your time went as fast as ours! So, we are back at school on Monday and looking forward to a term that has some great learning and a lot more normality. We hope that you were able to have a bit of a break over the last two weeks and were able to spend quality time with whanau. Lots of laughter and no stress!
The number of Covid cases at TPS has reduced quite dramatically but we also know that this is the time of year where the usual winter bugs hit us hard. We have been made aware that with lots of isolation and the wearing of masks then we might be a little more susceptible to bugs and illnesses. With this in mind we would remind you all that we will be very strong on ensuring that our classrooms are safe places so please do not send your tamariki to school if they show any symptoms of Covid-19, common colds or the 'flu. If a child presents with symptoms within the classroom then we will be asking you to come and pick them up.
We would also ask, for those without exemptions, that masks are still worn at school. It was compulsory for those in Years 4 to 6, and it might be wise to continue with that. We have asked all staff to continue to wear masks!
A wee reminder that Marty hasn't had many entries yet in his hat competition, so if your tamariki need a challenge then get them on to it! It will keep them out of your hair for an hour or two and hopefully stimulate some of those creative juices. Send those images of those awesome hats to martyh@taraprim.school. nz
Can't wait to hear the excited voices of our akonga back inside the school environment!
Ngā mihi,
Marty
