November 2022
October Highlights
- We had an amazing Career Day: 30 presentation topics, 969 students participated, 50 College/Career Fair booths, and 120 presenters. Our students learned about different career pathways and job opportunities.
- Our Visual and Performing Arts students had an eventful month: the Drama department performed Murder Takes the Stage, our Choir put on a Fall Concert, and EDHS Orchestra partnered with La Joya Middle School to play a Fall Concert. Our Marching Band is in competition season; they have respectfully placed 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place.
- The FFA department has a cotton judging team that has enjoyed much success at weekend competitions.
- Our CTVA and STRONG Academy students participated in a Leaders of Tomorrow Event; they met professionals and industry partners to learn more about their respective areas of study.
- EDHS AVID kicked off our college application season by encouraging students to apply to college by putting up posters and a booth. Students and staff are encouraged to wear college t-shirts on Tuesdays throughout the months of October and November.
- Our Girls' Water Polo team kept the "Paddle" after beating Golden West High School, our Boys' Water Polo won the EYL League title with an undefeated record. Both our Girls' and Boys' Water Polo teams are in the playoffs. Volleyball lost in the first round of the playoffs to a tough Kingsburg team. Girls' Tennis and Golf had valiant seasons. Cross Country will compete in a league meet next week, and it looks promising that we will have many runners place. Our Varsity Football team beat Golden West and brought home the "Saddle" for the first time in five years.
- We are fortunate to have such a spirited ASB, cheer squad, and dance team that helps us recognize and celebrate all the good things at El Diamante High School.
