  • The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001
    • sets deadlines for states to expand the scope and frequency of student testing, revamp their accountability systems, and guarantee that every teacher is qualified in their subject area

War on Terror

America's involvement in the War on Terror officially began on September 11th, 2001. On May 2nd, 2011 US Navy SEALs attacked a compound killing Osama bin Laden and his son's as well as others. Bin Laden was the leader of the Islamic extremist group of terrorists called Al Qaeda. They calmed full responsibility for the 9-11 attack. They wanted to remove the US from Saudi Arabia.

War in Afghanistan

The war in Afghanistan started on October 7th, 2001. It was an effort to control the Taliban. Obama put a policy in place to withdraw all the troops from Afghanistan.

War in Iraq

The war in Iraq started on March 20th, 2003. It was a war for oil. They also wanted to capture Saddam Hussein and disarm a rogue nation. Their goal was to help better the lives of Iraq civilians.
