Multicultural Day by Amanda Ball
Hello, Hola, Ni has, Olá, Heita, Namaste and G'day!!
Copeland 3rd Graders will once again be hosting Multicultural Day on March 8th! This is a fun and exciting day, as third grade will travel across the world on a learning expedition to explore authentic cultures from 7 different countries! They will learn about the dynamics of each country, enjoy authentic food, participate in traditional games or create a traditional craft from each country. The kids may dress in any traditional cultural clothing of their choice on this day. The teachers and kids are excited, but in order to make this day a success we will need lots of help from across all grade levels. Please consider signing up to bring an item(s), volunteer the day before to set up the rooms or the day of as a Tour Guide. Click here to sign up, 3rd Grade Multicultural Day. If you want to see all the excitement that day you will need to volunteer.
The Garden by Tracy Reynolds
Spring planting has started. The last garden class the 3rd graders learned that February is the month to plant tomatoes, and potatoes and cut back your roses. This week potatoes and tomatoes were planted so the 3rd graders, can harvest them before school ends. With spring around the corner the garden will need additional help with watering, when the rain finally stops. If anyone has pines needles in their yard, Please bag them up and bring them to school. Pine needles can be left under the picnic table near the garden. The 3rd graders use the pine needles as mulch to help keep the weeds out of the garden. If you can help water please contact Tracy Reynolds at tracy.b.reynolds@gmail.com. Our next garden dates are March 7 and the 21.
