The Weekly Update #4
December 22nd, 2022
From the Desk of Dr. Harper...
Happy New Year! I hope you had a chance to catch up with friends and family and enjoy some rest and relaxation during your well-deserved holiday break. January is always about fresh beginnings and positive change. I spent some time during the break reflecting on 2022 and thought about the many opportunities that lie ahead in 2023. Our program is quickly evolving and I cannot wait for you to see some of the things that we have in store for this year.
Returning students, I challenge you to reflect on this last semester. What worked best for you and what were your barriers? If there are changes you would like to make, now is the time! I would also like to take an opportunity to welcome our new families to the KCS Virtual Program. Please know that we are here to support you and your child during your journey.
We would like to thank everyone who attended our Clay Center field trip on December 16, 2022. Our virtual teachers loved seeing their students! We would also like to send a special thank you to Zach Merritt at the Clay Center who helped us coordinate this experience. We cannot wait to do it again!
The Secondary Virtual Lab
The Secondary Virtual Lab is an excellent resource for our virtual families. It is a place to obtain technical assistance, complete work, and take tests in a quiet environment. It is also a place where we require students to attend if they are not working at home. The lab will open for the second semester on January 25th. The lab is open on Wednesdays from 8-11 and 12-3.
2nd Semester Tutoring
Math and ELA tutoring will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 4-6 at the Board of Education beginning on January 5th.
