As we start a new school year, there are so many things to look forward to. CHS Counselor's Corner:

CHS Care and Connection Week is the first week of school: We are at the start of another school year. For CHS students, families, and school staff, this may bring about feelings of excitement, opportunity, anticipation, uncertainty, and nervousness. That nervousness is normal.

The Oregon Department of Education is asking every school/school district to welcome its staff and students back with Care and Connection Week. This means devoting the first weeks of the school year to building relationships and community and creating welcoming spaces for everyone.

You can visit the ODE Mental Health and Well-Being - Care and Connection Resource Page for additional resources and information.

Reminders:

Student Schedules on StudentVUE (Week of 8/29): This week Student schedule will be coming out. Like we have done in years past, CHS students will be able to see their 2022-2023 student schedule on StudentVUE Starting Monday, August 29th. CHS Student Schedule will look different this year because of the switch to the trimester system. You will need to log into your CHS Student or ParentVUE account to see your schedule. We will send out a Remind message when they are turned on for you to see.

If you forgot your username or password, click Existing Account Documentation for instructions. If you do not have an account, go to ParentVue Account Creation or contact your neighborhood school to obtain one.

Also, like in years past, we will hold two different in-person Schedule Request Change Days for students. If you are missing a class or do not have a core class like Math, English, or Science in your schedule, please come to your assigned schedule request day and work with your school counselor to get it fixed before school starts. If there are more minor concerns, like you did not get all the classes you wanted, you can always talk with your counselor after school starts. Our Schedule Request Change Day:

  • 10th and 11th Grade Schedule Request Change Day will be Wednesday, August 31st, from 1:30-3 PM in the CHS Cafeteria

.

  • 9th and 12th Grade Schedule Request Change Day will be Thursday, September 1st, from 1:30-3 PM in the CHS Cafeteria.
