Hello all! I am so excited to be your new collegium leader! I am a sophomore Electrical Engineer major here at SU and for the past two years the Lynn has been my home. I came to SU and I knew nobody. I was super nervous about the first day because all the students who were dorming were already in their groups doing first day stuff and I was not part of that. Luckily, SU had the Lynn to save me. I came here and it was one of the best decisions of my college career. The people were so welcoming and nice, and I feel like I need to pay that forward to other underclassmen who were in the same situation I was.
Now that you know some of my back story, let me explain a little about myself. I am a very odd person; I can go from super nerd StarWars sci-fi video games type things, to what the latest episode of The Bachelor was about. I enjoy my TV shows (mostly Netflix) and I am always down to play card games. I live in the Federal Way area, which is about thirty minutes south of SU, and I have the coolest puppy in the world. Her name is Sophia and she is half lab, half wolf mix! Yes, I said wolf. I am obsessed with puppies and dogs, I love them all. The thing that gets most people is I call dogs that are fifty pounds and over puppies… I love big puppies. If that was a profession that was realistic I would totally do it. Anyways, I am looking forward to Spring Quarter this year with everyone and getting to know what it is like to be on the other end of being a member at the Lynn.

Hi Everybody!!! I'm Brie Dennis, a transfer junior this year from Illinois ( a very looong drive away). Right now I'm majoring in Chemistry but might change it to Biochem. I'm excited to be your new CCL leader and can't wait to meet all of you and play games, or just release some stress by being immature together, lol.
Some quick facts about me: I LOVE chocolate and coca-cola, dancing like a maniac (la macarena is the best), and being outside for a jog or admiring the gardens. I'm totally
addicted to The Walking Dead and many other T.V. shows while it's on break, so we can totally discuss the latest shows and movies together. I also love reading, mostly fantasy or Sci-Fi and learning new things and meeting new people.
As a transfer, I understand how difficult and confusing it can be to find help around campus, so feel free to ask me for help anytime and I'll do my best to help you.
Kim-Dorothy Nguyen
Hey there Familynn!! It’s Kim, the last CCL from the original four. Be nice to all our new CCLs. They’re awesome! To kick off this first Lynn newsletter, we’re going to play ‘get to know your CCLs’. I tried to find some fun questions but first the basics!
Year? I’m a senior! Just 9 more weeks of SU for me.
Major? Computer Science with a business specialization. I’m job searching right now with the hope of staying local.
Where do you commute from? Mukilteo aka that ferry town to Whidbey Island.
How do you commute? Bus all the way! I live way to far to justify driving. Gas is expensive!
Now for some fun and random questions!
Favorite sport to watch? Football! Go Hawks!
Book you can read over and over again? Ooh, either Unwind by Neal Shusterman or Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. I’m a book nerd.
Favorite movie? Anything animated or Miyazaki. Probably Big Hero 6 is my favorite right now.
Favorite TV show? Sherlock (BBC version), Firefly, Game of Thrones, The 100
Favorite anime/manga? Right now, Haikyuu! The volleyball anime. Of all time? Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood
Guilty pleasure? Watching Let’s Play on YouTube and Tumblr.
Favorite nickname? Mama Kim! You’ve all trained me to respond to it.
Right, that’s a little bit about me. Let’s make this a great spring quarter!
