Need to Know: "I Can Be a Leader Who Make a Difference"
Kids are learning "I Can Be a Leader Who Makes a Difference." Take some time to read Luke 9:10-17, the story of the loaves and the fish.
The disciples saw a need that the Lord told them to meet. What's funny is that they started out trying to come up with solutions all on their own but they could only think of things that were within their own power: “We have no more than five loaves and two fish,” they said, “unless we go and buy food for all these people.” The miracle happened after they asked the Lord told them what they should do.
Sometimes it's easy for me to want to scold the disciples. Jesus was right there with them but they didn't rely on His power. But the same is true for me too. We have the Holy Spirit in us and how often do we rely on our own power and not ask the Lord to show us what He wants to do through us with his power. What miracles are at the other side of a conversation with Him?
The miracle came after Jesus touched the situation. The bread was blessed, broken, and given away. That's what Jesus wants to do with our lives too.
