What is it?
Tuberculosis is cause by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It mainly attacks the lungs but can attack other parts of the body.
Chain of infection
- Causative agent- Mycobacterium Tuberculosis
- Reservoir- Lungs
- Portal of entry- Breaks in the skin, mucous membranes, orifices in the body.
- Portal of exit- Through mouth and Nose
- Mode of Transmission- Cough or sneeze
