Heritage Speech/Language Happenings
Mrs. May
December 2015
I hope this letter finds you well! This is such an exciting and joyous month for all. Your children have been working hard in the speech and language room every day!
This month our K-2nd graders have focused on vocabulary, speech sound production, and story retell. They have listened to and participated in activities around the book Gingerbread Baby, by Jan Brett. Our 3-4th graders have been working on understanding and using similes and metaphors. They have started a snow globe project around figurative language! The 5th and 6th-grade students have read various non-fiction passages related to Antartica, Bullying, and Space, while working on vocabulary and comprehension.
May you have a blessed couple of weeks off from school, work, or the day to day grind during the holiday break. I am looking forward to seeing your children in 2016!
