Ask your child to show you how he can write subtraction equations. Be sure to ask him to draw the picture and "cross out" the ones he is taking away. (6-4=2, 8-5=3, etc.)
Reading in Action!
After reading a story, ask your child....how does the story begin? How does the story end?
As Writers, we can teach others through our writing.
We are writing " How To" books teaching others.
As Readers, we can use our Super Reading Powers to help us read more challenging books.
We know how to use the first sounds of words to help us read unknown words.
We can observe how illustrators are intentional to include important information in their pictures.
We can identify key details in non-fiction stories.
We can write and solve subtraction problems.
As Social Scientists, we can recognize and name South Carolina state symbols.
We will be doing an inquiry unit on magnets next week. Your child will have a note coming home today (March 2nd) about magnets. Please be on the look out for it!
Kaiden is Growing a Garden
For One of His Environmental Science Tag Projects
We welcome all of our kindergarten friends and families to send in pictures of family fun. We will have your child share his/her pictures with our classmates on the SmartBoard. Sometimes, we might include the pictures in our weekly Smore newsletter.
