Upcoming February Events
Bowman Counselors visited McCall: On Friday, Feb.5, students heard important information about their upcoming year at middle school, and had an opportunity to ask questions. After our counselors shared, students inputted information to create their 6th grade schedule.
Valentine Party: Friday, 2/12, 1:30-2:30
Student Holiday-Monday, Feb. 15
Spring Tutorials begin on Tuesday, Feb. 23. Tutoring days are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45-3:45.
Students involved have received a tutoring letter to take home and return with a parent signature. Please indicate how your child will depart from school after tutoring. Buses will only be provided for Sheridan Park and Spring Creek Mobile.

Important This Month:
This month we are beginning a new theme entitled “Teaming Up to Survive.”
We will be reading mostly nonfiction texts about explorers who take risks in order to advance a cause.
We will really focus on main idea and summarizing as well as drawing conclusions using text evidence.
In addition, we will be exploring different aspects of good writing and grammar usage. Each month we will feature an original student writing piece to show off our Aspiring Authors.
We have begun our new novel studies! Keep an eye out for the new novel your child is bringing home. Please encourage reading and rereading of the novel at home. Ask questions about the novel and even read along with us if you can. :)

Important This Month: We continue our Earth and Space unit with study of changes to the Earth’s surface involving the processes of . weathering, erosion and deposition. Students will explore processes in the formation of deltas, canyons, dunes, and glacial valleys. Additionally, students will begin studies of fossil fuels, along with weather and climate.

Valentine's Party
Colts Caring for a Cause @ Valentine’s
Friday, February 12th, 2016
1:30-2:30pm (Set up @ 1pm & Clean up @2:30pm)
McCall PTA is working with Operation Gratitude for our Valentine’s service project this year; a letter was sent home highlighting this organization. Along with candy & hygiene collection items, a written letter (or drawing) from Colts family to the troops are accepted anytime at the front office or in collection boxes.
Volunteer: We need parents to help with setup, crafts, serve, and clean up.
Valentines: Grades 1-5, please bring a box to collect your Valentines. Extra boxes are provided in the front office if needed.
Food/Drinks/Plastic Ware: Sign up through Signup Genius link below Items may be dropped off in the front office the day before or on the day of by 11AM.
