FAFSA - The Free Application for Federal Student Aid

The FAFSA opened on October 1st. It is best to submit your application early to have a better chance of receiving money. Federal funds can run out!


Students and ONE (1) parent must create an FSA ID before beginning the application. Go to fsaid.ed.gov and complete the required steps. Keep this information for future reference. You will have to use it every year to file your FAFSA.


The FAFSA can be completed at fafsa.ed.gov. Seniors applying for college in Fall 2022 should complete the 2022-2023 application. Parents will need to import their 2020 taxes. It is best to use the "Link to IRS" option to import tax information.

GCPS Foundation Scholarships

The scholarship application can be found at https://gcps-foundation.org/scholarships/

Students should read the criteria for each scholarship carefully.


The deadline to apply is Monday, December 6, 2021 at 5pm.
